To reproduce my screen saver that Cordell liked last fall

  1. Go to www.webshots.com and download the free screensaver available there.

  2. Double-click the Webshots Desktop! icon on your desktop to bring up the options panel so you can adjust the screensaver to work like you want it to. I'd turn off the option to have it change your wallpaper and turn off the tray icon as a bare minimum. You'll also need to enable whichever transition options you want on the screensaver tab, and change the wallpaper back to whatever it was; the program will change it the first time without asking.

  3. After you're done with step 2, delete the icon from the desktop. There's another copy in the START menu if you ever need it.

  4. Click on START, then Find, then Files and Folders and search for "Webshots.scr". When you find it, right click on it and choose Create Shortcut. You'll get a message something to the effect "the shortcut can't be created here, would you like to put it on the desktop instead." Say yes.

  5. Right-click on the shortcut, click in the box next to "Shortcut key:", and press Ctrl, Alt, and W at the same time. (That's the first thing I taught Cordell how to do.) After you've done that, click OK.

  6. Webshots.com has lots of neat pictures you can download. Cordell might enjoy picking some out and downloading them. After you show him how, he might want to spend quite a bit of time doing it. To download more than a couple of sets you have to register with them, but that doesn't even require giving them your last name.

I love you guys. Have fun.
